Road Show Background: Carolyn Goldstein, Program Manager of Public History and Community Archives at UMass Boston, informed those present of the background of the MA Memories Road Show Program, which will be held in Eastham on May 7, 2017:
o Registering
o Grant permission for use of their images
o Sit one-on-one with volunteer to decide which photos to share (3-4 max).
o Describe photos, stating why each is important to that person. Include specifics of names, dates, locations, story
o Maps and deeds ok to bring
o Bring all materials in their original format, not copies or scanned, unless that is the original.
o While event unfolds, photos being scanned are projected on a wall so all can see
o Owner of photos can themselves be photographed with their images.
o A team of archivists will be on site to teach people how to take care of their images.
o Local history groups are invited to set up tables so networking can occur. Likely number of attendees – 150-200. (Ptown had 100-150)
