Irish Genealogy 3/19/16

March 19, 2016

Have you ever wanted to research your Irish roots? Eastham Public Library invites those just beginning their search to meet professional genealogist Michael Brophy and learn where to start.
Irish ancestral research is particularly challenging, as the Public Records Office in Dublin was destroyed 1922.  Alternative ways to find information include vital records, immigration documents, and the archives of several religious groups.  Although this is not a hands-on-workshop, Michael will lead attendees through the process using examples of well-known persons such as Irish-American Grace Kelly.
