People for Justice in Palestine presents Lauren Siebert. In fall 2012, activist and writer Lauren Siebert traveled to the West Bank in Palestine as part of the International Solidarity Movement. Within a week, she had been arrested by Israeli authorities and threatened with deportation for taking part in a peaceful demonstration. Within days, she witnessed how much worse the consequences could be when Palestinians took the same actions. Before her stay was over, she would live the life of Palestinian resistance, harvesting olives one day, facing tear gas and guns the next, sharing the anger and agony as Israel attacked the Gaza Strip, and witnessing the celebrations in the West Bank as Palestine won U.N. recognition as a non-member state. In this program, Lauren Siebert presents the questions and contrasts she confronted as an activist in Palestine during this tumultuous time in the country's history. This event is sponsored by People for Justice in Palestine. Their website can be found here..A complete list of available streaming videos can be found at citychannel4.com/video
